About Duskbirds
Updated March 2026 with partial excerpts from the introduction of Duskbirds Comics’ first print edition!
Duskbirds is my “side-project sketch-comic” inspired by experiences in my personal life, and drawn for creative play. It features my original “duskbirds” characters, which I’ve been drawing as far back as 2012 (and even earlier!).
I created Duskbirds Comics as an experiment for improving my skills with conveying ideas through sequential art. I have always loved comics, but found the process of drawing even a single page intimidating. Drawing Duskbirds is my attempt to learn more about this medium I love!
Additionally, when writing, I tend to be wordy. Practicing conveying ideas visually seemed a good way of forcing myself to say more with less. While Duskbirds mainly involves comics, I hope working on it will also improve my writing’s conciseness.
This comic is a personal side-project. As such, I add to it when I have free time. This means updates might be sporadic. But it does not mean I love working on this project any less!
